I have been to this place twice, and both times I was very disappointed. There is a long wait time since they only have one cook and since they have no organized sitting arrangements (they sat my wife and I in a table for 4 when there were multiple single tables available and multiple groups were waiting to be seated). The coffee is self-served, something that I have no problem with except for the fact that the entire coffee rack was empty and there were no mugs (also later the coffee tasted like mud).
I don’t know how this place has managed to have such high reviews. Perhaps there was a change in administration, or perhaps others have low expectations. I live on a 2 minute walk from this place, but I prefer to take my business to Mckays and I recommend you do the same.
The first time I visited this place our pancakes were not fully cooked. They looked and tasted good on the outside, but inside they were all batter. The rest of the meal was digestible at best. We decided to give this place a second chance (mainly for convenience and because of the nice outdoor chairs) , but on our second visit we were waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes before the waitress told us she forgot to write the order (which is not uncommon for this place as you can find in other 1 and 2 star reviews for this place).
Food was cold when finally arrived, staff seemed too busy to care, still better than Dunkin Donuts
Ate here for breakfast for the first time and had a terrific experience! Bottomless coffees and huge breakfasts and great prices. Really wonderful staff. Nice location downtown with exposed brick walls and other local-oriented decorations. You might have to wait because it's a popular spot on the weekend.
Cool space, exposed beams, nice staff. Food ranges from good to very good. They have been very accommodating when dealing with my food allergy. Prices are fair. Good place for breakfast! Parking is a challenge.
We loved this place. Fantastic Eggs Benedict, especially the Crab Cakes. We also enjoyed the pumpkin pancakes. The coffee selection is also a plus with a wide variety and unlimited self-serve refills.
The only reason this place is able to stay open and has such high reviews is because it is the only (and closest) breakfast restaurant around the area. If you want better service and quality for the same price, do yourself a favor and visit Mckays instead (5 min drive, 10-15 min walk).
